DNS Made Easy was a good service for a long time, and a lot of people chose it for the same reasons people choose us: it was fast, it was reliable, and it stayed out of the way. If the recent changes no longer fit how you work, this page lays out plainly what a move to CloudFloorDNS looks like, what you'd gain, and what you'd give up.
No hard sell. If we're not the right fit, we'll tell you.
We've run managed and secondary DNS since the late 1990s. We aren't a certificate authority, a hyperscaler, or a CDN that also does DNS. We're an independent DNS operator with our own anycast network, and the people who answer support tickets are the same people who run it.
Anycast authoritative DNS, secondary DNS, DNS failover with health monitoring, GeoDNS, DNSSEC, an API, and domain registration under one login. Nothing exotic, and nothing you'll have to relearn.
Plans are published on our pricing page, and legacy customers aren't reclassified into new tiers later. If you sign up on a plan, that's the plan you're on until you choose to change it.
Phone, email, and a helpdesk, staffed around the clock. When something's wrong with your zone at 2 a.m., you talk to a DNS engineer, not an account manager.
You're leaving because the deal changed under you. So the one thing we can offer that DigiCert can't is a price that doesn't. Sign up while your domains are still on DNS Made Easy, and this is your plan for as long as you stay with us.

Claim the Switcher planCompare: DNS Made Easy Basic is $50 a month. Our own Bronze plan is $50 a month.
Any domain that is delegated to DNS Made Easy nameservers on the day you sign up. That's the whole test; we check it with a single dig NS and you don't need to send us an invoice. Existing CloudFloorDNS customers and domains hosted elsewhere aren't eligible, and we ask that you keep it to one Switcher account per organization.
We'd rather you see the real numbers than a cherry-picked chart. The Switcher plan is built to beat their entry tier outright; the standard plans are shown too, so you can see what you'd be on if you weren't coming from DNS Made Easy. Figures are from each company's public pricing page and are checked periodically.

| On DNS Made Easy | On CloudFloorDNS | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Managed DNS (anycast) | Managed DNS (anycast, 15+ PoPs) | Same idea. Nameserver hostnames change; record data doesn't. |
| DNS Failover + System Monitoring | DNS Failover + Netmon | Health checks every minute with 20+ check types (HTTP, HTTPS, TCP, ping, and more). Failover records swap automatically and swap back on recovery. |
| Secondary DNS | Secondary DNS | We slave from your primary over AXFR/IXFR with TSIG, or act as hidden-primary if you prefer. Works alongside another provider for dual-vendor resilience. |
| Global Traffic Director | GEO DNS Director | Region-, country-, or continent-based answers. Covered by a US patent held by our founders. |
| ANAME records | ALIAS / CNAME flattening at apex | Ask us about the exact record type if your apex points at a CDN or load balancer. |
| Vanity nameservers | Vanity / white-label nameservers | Common ask from MSPs and hosts. |
| DNSSEC | DNSSEC (add-on on Switcher; included on Gold and above) | If you're signed today, plan a key rollover as part of the move (see step 4). |
| REST API | API | Endpoint names differ. Ask us for the reference before you start rewriting scripts. |
| Sandbox environment | No separate sandbox | Honest gap if you rely on it. Most customers test in a spare zone instead. |
| Domain registration | Domain registration (280+ TLDs) | Optional. You can keep your registrar and only move DNS. |
A DNS migration is low-risk as long as the old and new providers answer identically during the switch. That's the whole discipline. Here's how we do it.
Download each zone as a standard zone file from their control panel, or, if you have AXFR enabled, send us your primary's address and a TSIG key and we'll pull them directly. If you'd rather not touch it at all, share read access with us and we'll export on your behalf.
We load the zones into your new CloudFloorDNS account exactly as exported, then send you a side-by-side record report. Nothing is live yet; the zones simply sit on our nameservers ready to answer.
Query our nameservers directly and compare against what DNS Made Easy returns. If the answers match for every record type you care about, you're ready.
# Ask CloudFloorDNS directly, before changing anything at the registrar dig @ns1.cloudfloordns.com example.com A +short dig @ns1.cloudfloordns.com example.com MX +short dig @ns1.cloudfloordns.com example.com TXT +short # Compare against your current provider dig @ns10.dnsmadeeasy.com example.com A +short # Optional: confirm serials and the full zone match dig @ns1.cloudfloordns.com example.com SOA +short
Add our DS record at your registrar alongside the existing one, wait out the DS TTL, then switch delegation and remove the old DS afterwards. Done in that order, validating resolvers never see a broken chain. If you're not signed today, skip this step entirely.
Update the NS delegation to CloudFloorDNS. Leave your DNS Made Easy zones in place until the delegation has fully propagated, typically 24 to 48 hours depending on the TLD, so every resolver on earth gets a correct answer no matter which provider it asks. Then cancel the old account on your own schedule.
That's a feature to us and might not be to you. It means you get engineers on the phone and pricing that doesn't move under you. It also means we don't have a marketplace of adjacent products or a global enterprise sales team.
It's priced under our own Bronze plan on purpose, because moving DNS is work and we want to make it worth your while. Once you're on it, it's yours for good. But it's only available to domains coming from DNS Made Easy, and we'll say no to everyone else, including our own customers who ask.
If you sign your zones today, plan for the add-on or for Gold ($120/month), and read step 4 above about rolling keys. We'd rather say that here than have you find out after you've exported everything.
Anyone who has hard-coded your DNS Made Easy nameservers, such as a reseller panel or a partner's glue records, will need the new names. We'll give you a checklist.
The Switcher plan is $39 a month for as long as you're with us. No obligation, no pressure, and if a different provider suits you better, we'll say so.
